When a prostate cancer diagnosis rocked my world five years ago, I determined to do a health makeover. I believe God created everything we need in this earth to naturally fortify our bodies and stay healthy. I’m ultra-conservative when it comes to synthetic pharmaceuticals and invasion procedures.
So my health makeover started with nutrition, a plant-strong eating plan. Of course, plenty of pure water, exercise, good sleep, and sunshine are essential.
A couple of years ago I added another plant-based regimen: essential oils
Essential oils are extracted directly from the bark, flower, fruit, leaf, seed or root of a plant or tree. They are highly concentrated and just one drop can have powerful benefits physically, mentally, and emotionally.
I love the fact they are plant-based—not synthetic or toxic. They have been used for relaxation and beauty regimens, everyday cleaning, and as natural medicine for thousands of years. The Bible is filled with examples of their usage.
Gail and I love helping families stay healthier naturally. Prevention is always better than never-ending visits to the doctor office for more antibiotics. Essential oils can be a tremendously valuable resource for your family’s health.
Dramatic Personal Results
Gail suffered from asthma and multiple bronchial infections all her life—and all of our married life. I don’t know how many times I’ve taken her to the emergency room over the years for breathing treatments. We’ve spent thousands on inhalers, steroids, antibiotics, and home breathing machines. Two years ago, she began taking one drop a day of a protective blend of essential oils. She hasn’t used an inhaler or had one bronchial infection since.
I get regular PSA blood tests every 3-6 months to monitor the prostate cancer. The changes in my test scores had been negligible but in the past couple of years had crept up. After my PSA test last August, I began a personal trial of an essential oil cellular complex. I’d heard some pretty impressive anecdotal reports from cancer patients using this blend.
I didn’t change any of my health routines for the next three months, then had another PSA test. It had dropped back down to essentially where it was when I was diagnosed five years ago. Perhaps not a study ready to be published in a medical journal, but you better believe I’m continuing this new regimen!
My Daily Routine Using Essential Oils
- Lemon water. The first thing I drink each morning is a glass of lemon water. For years, I squeezed one half of a lemon in the water. Now I use 2 drops of lemon essential oil. Less acidic on my teeth, less expensive, and easier! I actually add a drop or 2 of a citrus essential oil to my water throughout the day. I love the taste and get the antioxidant benefits.

Frankincense. This is the king of essential oils. You may also see referenced as Boswelia extract. Many uses and many benefits including improved cellular health and immunity. I take 1 drop under my tongue each morning.

Protective blend for immunity. I take another drop of a protective blend to support my immune system. This is the same blend that Gail starting taking to help support her respiratory system. I don’t remember the last cold or bout with flu I’ve had.

Cellular complex. 4 drops of this blend that I’ve been taking since last fall to help slow and even reverse abnormal cancerous cell growth.

Aromatherapy. In my office, I run an aromatic diffuser using a variety of essential oils that promote mental alertness, energy, and lift my mood. My favorites are wild orange, lavender, peppermint, and lime.
We use essential oils in many others ways as well but these comprise my current daily routine. I use only 100% therapeutic grade oils. You won’t get the same benefits of oils at your local supercenter grocery stores or online. There are only a couple reputable companies I’d even consider.
I could give you several other dramatic benefits we’ve experienced by using these simple yet potent, therapeutic gifts of nature. My purpose is simply to share our experiences in hopes that perhaps essential oils might enhance your own health goals as they have ours.
