This is what I woke up to this morning. I’m on a couple day personal retreat in the northwoods of upper Wisconsin. I’m by myself in a rustic cabin on a beautiful lake. The loons call to me often from the lake and deer pose for me when I aim my iPhone at them.
This is another of my annual retreats. Since my sacred pathway is that of a naturalist, I savor any opportunity to surround myself with nature. It’s been a busy time and as always, it takes some effort to clear the schedule and break away - yet my family and church is always appreciative when I do. I return rested, refreshed, recharged.
You deserve such a retreat also. Little breaks throughout each day are also important; yet you need occasional longer retreats as well. You don’t have to spend a lot of money. Just give yourself permission to do something - even if only 24 hours - that rejuvenates you.
