Praying God’s Word

April 27th, 2008 · No Comments · Books, Family, Parenting, Spiritual growth

My twin daughters spent the weekend with a daughter of some family friends while the parents were out of town. One of my daughters came down with a bad stomach flu yesterday afternoon. I brought her home and took care of her the rest of the day. Just as I went to bed last night, my other daughter called - the demon flu had just hit her. So I spent the night at our friend’s house taking care of my other daughter. They tell me that Dad taking care of them is still great medicine and comfort - even when 20 years old.

Fortunately I’d already asked my associate to teach at church this weekend. I had planned on emceeing the service yet opted to stay home this morning to take care of my girls - back and forth between two locations.

My daughters’ friend asked for some specific Scriptures regarding healing. I printed of a list I’d had on my computer, then wished I’d had my copy of Germaine Copeland’s book, Prayers That Avail Much, so that I could also give these girls a prayer for healing based on God’s promises. I did a Google search and found Germaine has a website with a prayer search page. A few clicks later I had printed off the prayer I’d wanted from her book. Very cool.

Interestingly, my associate is teaching this morning on praying the Word. I spoke last week on the power of God’s Word. You can listen to both messages at the WOGCC website. I highly recommend you check out Germaine Copeland’s website as well as add Prayers That Avail Much to your personal library.

I need to get back to caring for my daughters. They’re doing much better.
