Not only do we need a sufficient quantity of water each day, we need quality water. It’s probably no surprise that tap water doesn’t come close to any definition of quality. What may be a surprise, however, is that not all bottled water is quality water.
The problem with bottled water is that it is less regulated than tap water. In fact, some distributors of bottled water such as Dasani and Aquafina supply reprocessed tap water! You can find out which bottlers exceed FDA standards by checking for those who are members of the International Bottled Water Association.
You have to be careful of plastic water bottles also. Some plastics can leach into the water. PET or PETE plastic is the most common in water bottles and is fairly safe if the water is not stored in it too long. You should not reuse plastic water bottles due to bacteria - better to throw the plastic bottle away after using or use refillable glass bottles.
The best way to provide good water for your family with the least contaminants is to invest in a good water filtration system. There are numerous systems available. Dr. Don Colbert gives a great overview in his book, The Seven Pillars of Health. My personal choice is an Aquasana faucet-mounted under counter system by Sun Water Systems. I have one at home as well as units installed at the church office and church cafe.
Your body needs a sufficient quantity of quality water. Do a little research and invest in the best filtration system you can afford.
What water filtration systems can you recommend?
