Do You Twitter?

April 19th, 2008 · No Comments · Blogging, Technology

Twitter If you have to ask, “What’s Twitter?”, then begin by checking out twitter.com. Basically, it’s short (140 characters or less) online blasts letting the world know what you’re doing at the moment. If you’re from my generation, you’re immediate reaction might be something like, “Why would I want to take time to do that? I don’t want to live in a fishbowl.”

I understand. I’ve had the same thoughts and have experimented with Twitter for a few weeks. I simply use it to update my status on Facebook and website. Yet I can see it’s appeal among those who value social networking through mobile or online connections. The jury’s still out for me personally on how I’ll use.

I’ve found several interesting posts regarding other’s feelings about and use of Twitter. Check out this post by Dave Ferguson. Darren Rouse from Problogger.net has a great video of fellow bloggers comments.

I’d love to hear how you use Twitter and why. Or perhaps why you don’t and won’t.

UPDATE: Another great video explaining the value of Twitter.
